Hiring The Shed
The Packing Shed provides a unique setting for less formal wedding parties. While this breathtaking location is not eligible to be registered for marriage services, it nevertheless presents a special opportunity to celebrate with family and friends in this historic building, surrounded by the sea, a multitude of various watercraft and breathtaking views.
As well as wedding parties, the Packing Shed is available for use by various organisations, including local charities, and individuals, for a variety of outdoor activities including overnight camping, bird watching, art classes, birthday parties and special occasions. Parties of up to 70 people can be accommodated and many local caterers including The Company Shed - can provide seafood and other lunches on these occasions.
Two launches are available for hire, with drivers, both with facilities for taking out disabled persons in wheelchairs. Our facilities include electricity from a diesel generator, which provides 240 volt power for lighting, heating water and a small microwave. Fresh water can be taken out for each event in containers. Chairs, tables, and some crockery are provided. There is even a flushing toilet using rainwater collected from the roof.
Well behaved dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead at all times in the launches and at the Packing Shed.
You can hire the Packing Shed for your special events. First see the calendar below then contact our Bookings Secretary, Bry Mogridge, on 01206 385123 to check availability or to get further details. You then need to download a Booking Form to send in by post by clicking here. A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. Payment can be made by cheque (payable to Packing Shed Trust), cash or bank transfer (Packing Shed Account at Barclays Bank: sort code: 20-22-67 account no: 50684414).
